Scott Reynolds graduated from Brigham Young University in 1996 with bachelor's degree in Acting.

Reynolds is the Artistic Director and a founding member of the Handcart Ensemble, a New York City theatre company devoted to bringing new life to literary masterworks by combining bold, inventive staging with language-rich translations, adaptations, and classically inspired new works. In building upon the ages’ finest and most enduring literary accomplishments, the group seeks to edify, inspire, and entertain its audiences.

Scott directed and translated the company’s debut production of Racine’s Andromaque. He has also adapted and directed productions of Munk’s/Dreyer’s Ordet and Balzac’s The Wild Ass’s Skin. His verse adaptation of the novel which inspired the latter is anthologized in Plays & Playwrights 2002.
