Brigham Young University. While attending BYU Mike was employed by Broderick & Howell Construction and soon became the company's superintendent. He supervised many commercial projects, many of which were chapels for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and schools. After nearly twenty years with Broderick & Howell, Mike was named Director of Construction at BYU in 1989. Throughout the ensuing 23 years Stratton oversaw every major building project on the campus, including the Museum of Art, BYU Broadcasting Building, the Indoor Practice Facility, and many others.
Mike loved riding his horse at South Fork and Sundance. He loved the fall leaves and spending time with his wife, Connie, their two children, and their grandchildren. On September 1, 2012, Mike passed away from complications of cancer.
