Lydia Darlene Baker Andelin (1951-2012) was born in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, in December 1951, to William and Mary Jane Baker. On March 10, 1972 she married Lane Andelin in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Through her high school years Darlene was a cheerleader and then, as a student at Brigham Young University, she participated in the Ballroom Dance Company. She was a talented cook and was always known as "The Cool Mom."

On July 14, 2012 Darlene, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully after battling multiple sclerosis for fifteen years.
