Benjamin Boster graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in vocal performance, and in 2009 with a master's degree in vocal performance and pedagogy.

Boster has performed major roles in BYU’s operas including Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief, and Leporello in Don Giovanni. In 2008, Boster was awarded an Oscarson Discovery Grant, which paid for him to attend the Richard Crittenden Opera Workshop in Washington, D.C.
