Ashlyn Bree Ostraff Anderson graduated from Brigham Young University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in theatre arts education with a minor in English teaching. She was included on the Winter 2013 Dean's List. After graduation, she accepted a teaching position at Fremont High in Brigham City, Utah.

In 2013, Anderson served an assistant stage manager for BYU's Microburst Theatre Festival. In 2015, her proposal at the Theatre in our Schools Conference, sponsored in Orem, Utah, by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE), was accepted for presentation at the national conference that August in Milwaukee. The same year, Anderson received a Most Outstanding Mask Club Production Award from BYU's Theatre and Media Arts Department for the play The Clean House.
