Ashley Jean Cook graduated from Brigham Young University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in theatre arts studies. She was included on the Winter 2013 Dean's List.

During the fall of 2013, Cook served as costume designer for the BYU production of The Light in the Piazza. Her costume designs won the Top Design Award at the 2014 Region VIII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF).

Cook was also a designer for the Microburst Theatre Festival, which received the Distinguished Achievement in the Production of New Work and the Distinguished Ensemble Achievement at the 2014 KCACTF. Also in 2014, she received the Excellence in Costuming award from Department of Theatre and Media Arts and she served as the production designer for BYU's full-length film production of Beyond.

The same year, she was the costume designer for BYU's production of Our Town, directed by Stephanie Breinholt. She received a national award from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for Outstanding Costume Design for the production.

In 2015, she received two awards from BYU's Theatre and Media Arts Department: an Outstanding Student Award, and an Excellence in Costume Design Award for her work on Our Town.
