Amberly "Amber" Plourde graduated from Brigham Young University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in theatre arts education. In 2013, Plourde wrote the play Stealing Crowe and was presented with the Outstanding Play-writing Student Award at BYU's Theatre Student Awards Celebration.
In 2014, Plourde played The Queen in BYU's production of Shakespeare's Cymbeline. Also in 2014, the Microburst Theatre Festival, a series of short plays which included Plourde's play, Stealing Crowe, was awarded a Distinguished Achievement in the Production of a New Work and a Distinguished Ensemble Achievement Award by the Kennedy Center American College Theater (KCACTF). At the 2014 Vera Hinckley Mayhew Student Creative Arts Contests, Plourde received the Mayhew Playwriting Award for her 10-minute comedic play submission Stealing Crowe.
